Sebelumnya Perusahaan asal Taiwan, PT Meiloon Technology (Meiloon) resmi merelokasi pabriknya yang berada di Suzhou, Tiongkok ke Subang, Jawa Barat dengan nilai investasi mencapai US$ 90 juta dengan melakukan groundbreaking pada Selasa (21/7). PT Meiloon merupakan satu dari tujuh perusahaan asing yang berencana merelokasi pabriknya ke Indonesia.

Jakarta ANTARA - Sekitar 59 perusahaan Taiwan berpotensi memindahkan pabriknya dari luar negeri ke Indonesia selama masa pandemi COVID-19, kata Badan Koordinasi Penanaman Modal BKPM saat sesi seminar di Jakarta, Kamis. “Dari 119 perusahaan asing yang berpotensi relokasi ke Indonesia, 59 di antaranya berasal dari Taiwan,” kata Wakil Kepala BKPM Ikmal Lukman saat menghadiri seminar virtual yang membahas prospek kerja sama ekonomi Indonesia dan Taiwan. Dari total 119 perusahaan, potensi nilai investasi yang dapat dihimpun Indonesia mencapai 41,39 miliar dolar AS sekitar Rp608 triliun, sebut Ikmal. Sementara itu, jika ratusan perusahaan itu memindahkan usahanya ke Indonesia, tenaga kerja yang berpotensi terserap mencapai jiwa, terang Ikmal. Sejauh ini, tujuh perusahaan asing telah memutuskan untuk memindahkan pabriknya dari China ke Indonesia selama pandemi COVID-19. Dari tujuh perusahaan itu, dua di antaranya berasal dari Taiwan, yaitu Kenda dan Meiloon. “Meiloon saat ini telah memulai usahanya di Indonesia, tepatnya di Kabupaten Subang, Jawa Barat, dan presiden direktur Meiloon menyampaikan ini ke saya dia akan mengajak perusahaan Taiwan lainnya untuk merelokasi usahanya ke Indonesia,” ujar Ikmal. Meiloon Industrial Co Ltd pada bulan lalu resmi memindahkan pabriknya dari Suzhou, China, ke Subang, Jawa Barat, Indonesia. Perusahaan asal Taiwan itu telah berdiri sejak 1973 dan bergerak pada bidang pembuatan pengeras suara dan alat-alat terkait sistem audio lainnya. Sementara itu, Kenda Tire yang berpusat di Taiwan juga telah memutuskan memindahkan pabriknya di Shenzen, China, ke Indonesia. Jauh sebelum pandemi, Kenda telah membangun pabrik ban di Rangkasbitung, Serang, Banten. Menurut Ikmal, nilai investasi yang dapat dihimpun Indonesia dari tujuh perusahaan itu mencapai 850 juta dolar AS sekitar Rp12,48 triliun, sementara tenaga kerja yang berpotensi terserap sebanyak orang. Dalam sesi seminar yang sama, Wakil Ketua Kantor Dagang dan Ekonomi Taiwan TETO Jakarta Peter Lan menyebutkan prospek kerja sama Indonesia dan Taiwan masih menjanjikan. Pasalnya, Indonesia merupakan salah satu mitra penting Taiwan untuk menerapkan Kebijakan Baru ke Arah Selatan" New Southbound Policy yang diluncurkan oleh Tsai Ing-wen, orang nomor satu di Taiwan. Prospek menjanjikan itu juga didukung tren pemindahan investasi perusahaan Taiwan dari China ke negara-negara lain, termasuk Indonesia. Tren pemindahan investasi itu, menurut Kristy Tsun-Tzu Hsu, Direktur Pusat Kajian ASEAN CIER Taiwan, telah terlihat mulai periode 2016-2019. Data itu ia sampaikan saat berbicara pada seminar virtual pada Kamis bertajuk "Indonesia-Taiwan Economic Webinar 2020", yang diadakan oleh Kamar Dagang dan Industri Indonesia KADIN dan TETO. CIER atau Chung-Hua Institution for Economic Research merupakan lembaga kajian Taiwan yang fokus mengamati dan meneliti sektor ekonomi dan industri di wilayah tersebut. Sejalan dengan itu, Wakil Direktur Jenderal Biro Perdagangan Luar Negeri Taiwan Guann-Jyh Lee pada seminar tersebut mendorong agar Taiwan dan Indonesia meningkatkan kemitraan di industri pangan, baja, produksi alat berat, dan kerja sama lainnya yang sejalan dengan kebijakan revolusi industri Indonesia.
